Overview of Schlumberger OLGA

This dynamic multiphase flow simulator models time-dependent behaviors, and transient flow, to maximize production potential. Transient modeling is an essential component of feasibility studies and field development design. Dynamic simulation is essential in deepwater and is used extensively in offshore and onshore developments to investigate transient behavior in pipelines and wellbores.

Transient simulation with this simulator provides an added dimension to steady-state analyses by predicting system dynamics such as time-varying changes in flow rates, fluid compositions, temperature, solids deposition, and operational changes.

It includes the updates from the NORSOK M-506 standard, incorporating organic (acetic) acids in the computation of pH. With this, OLGA can now accurately simulate the effects of this on the corrosion rate. It allows users to utilize equation-of-state selections for pressure/enthalpy calculations for single-component systems.
