Free Download Process Explorer Latest Version Offline Installer for Windows PC. The unique capabilities of Process Explorer make it useful for tracking down DLL-version problems or handling leaks and providing insight into how Windows and applications work.

Overview of Process Explorer

Also known as Windows Sysinternals is a freeware task manager and system monitor for Microsoft Windows created by Winternals Software, which Microsoft has acquired. It provides Windows Task Manager's functionality and rich features for collecting information about user system processes.

Features of Process Explorer

Ever wondered which program has a particular file or directory open? Now you can find out. Process Explorer shows you which handles and DLLs processes have opened or loaded. The Windows Sysinternals display consists of two sub-windows.

The top window always shows a list of the currently active processes, including the names of their own accounts. In contrast, the information displayed in the bottom window depends on this tool's mode. If it is in handle mode, you'll see the handles that the process selected in the top window has opened; if Process Explorer is in DLL mode, you'll see the DLLs and memory-mapped files that the process has loaded. Windows Sysinternals also has a powerful search capability to quickly show you which processes have particular handles opened or DLLs loaded.
