Free Download UFS Explorer Network RAID, the latest standalone offline installer for macOS. Multi-purpose data recovery software with network-based capabilities.
Overview of UFS Explorer Network RAID for macOS
It is designed to address common cases of data loss and ones related to complex RAID-based storage devices, with the possibility of performing data recovery over a Local Area Network. The program allows restoring files from hard disk drives, USB sticks, memory cards, and other electronic media attached to a remote computer as if they were connected directly to a local machine without physically transferring the hardware. Moreover, a disk array can be assembled from components connected to multiple PCs, even if they run different operating systems.
The software offers automated and manual RAID assembly. It supports various configurations, including standard, nested, and custom layouts and specific technologies, like Drobo Beyond RAID, Synology Hybrid RAID, Btrfs-RAID, and ZFS RAID-Z.
Operations with drives connected to a DeepSpar Disk Imager device can also be carried out by UFS Explorer Network RAID via LAN and controlled by the software without needing third-party utilities. Furthermore, the application features other functionality for practical work with storage with signs of physical damage.
The software makes it possible to specify parameters as to storage reading, offers an embedded disk imager with configurable read timeout, block size, rules for skipping damaged sectors, etc., and supports maps with bad blocks generated during imaging through the identification of a given pattern or produced by other compatible solutions.
Features of UFS Explorer Network RAID for macOS
- Distributed data recovery over LAN
It offers an option of distributed data recovery over a LAN for cases when storage devices involved in the process cannot be connected to a single host computer. Launched on each machine, the program enables access to the remote PCs via LAN and works with their storage as if they were physically attached to the host. RAID assembly is also possible from constituents distributed between different computers.
- Effective data recovery from RAID
It allows processing RAID of various layouts, including standard levels (RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 1E, RAID 3, RAID 5, RAID 6, etc.), nested patterns (RAID level 10, 50, 60, 50E, etc.) as well as custom RAID setups via RDL or Runtime VIM. The software also supports specific RAID configurations, like Drobo BeyondRAID, Synology Hybrid RAID, Btrfs-RAID, and RAID-Z, which makes it an indispensable instrument for most tasks related to data recovery from complex storage systems.
- Ideal for restoring data lost from NAS
It makes it possible to cope with data loss from NAS appliances of various manufacturers, including Drobo, Buffalo Technology (TeraStation, LinkStation), Synology, QNAP Systems, etc. It is an optimal solution for this type of device. The program identifies RAID metadata on NAS disks and uses it to assemble the array automatically. The storage can also be defined manually and reconstructed in the virtual mode with the help of an embedded RAID builder.
- Adaptive RAID reconstruction
The software supports an adaptive reconstruction of redundant disk arrays (RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, etc. ) using bad sector maps generated for the components during their imaging or through recognition of a given pattern and external ones created by other compatible tools. The program determines damaged data blocks on disks based on their maps and can restore them using redundancy (parity information or a copy of data).
- Configurable disk reading and imaging
It presents the possibility of choosing the disk access method and defining a timeout for cases when reading fails due to an I/O device error. An advanced disk imager allows adjusting the imaged area and such parameters as read timeout, block size, direction, protocol, etc. A set of rules can be specified for skipping bad blocks encountered. The latter also indicated
- Support of DeepSpar Disk Imager
It provides direct access via LAN and allows data recovery from drives containing bad sectors connected through a DeepSpar Disk Imager device.
- Customizable scanning
The application provides several scanning options, including a quick scan for defined file system types, a longer profound search for lost data by known content with the possibility to load custom IntelliRAW rules, scanning of the space used by the file system, or just the “free space” areas. The scanning procedure can be paused to check the intermediate result while its results can be saved for further reference.
- Defining damaged sectors
It generates defect maps during disk imaging and supports ones produced by other compatible solutions. The software can use such a map to visualize damaged sectors on the storage or identify bad blocks dynamically by recognizing a specified content pattern. The defective areas can also be masked with a provided text or hexadecimal template.
